Mediterranean Folk Music
Their new album “Darash” includes eight tracks composed by the group, which are infused with the musical traditions from the Mediterranean and Atlantic regions, but with a non-improvised twist that is at once very current and linked to a more classical folk sound. These are ancestral sounds that have been passed down through the generations, enriching society and leading to a highly personal style of composition and performance, charged with energy. And so, poised between Mediterranean salt and Northern winds, they have shaped a new concept: Nazari folk.” – LA VOZ DE GRANADA
Darash was born in 2014 in Granada, Spain, the fruit of a meeting of musicians
with a wide range of musical influences.
Darash is made up of polyintrumentalist musicians with very diverse styles, who offer the audience the opportunity to immerse themselves in a voyage around the Mediterranean region of bygone days and invites us to rediscover our cultural roots.
Thanks to the different musical influences each of them brings (rock, Celtic, Flamenco, Sephardic, Arab, Turkish and Andalusian, etc.), the ensemble embarks on a fascinating journey, linking these worlds through fusion and experimentation.
